After selling his family home and renting a house on his return from his first journey, Kevin is able to return to
This scheme feeds 886 children daily and by now Kevin is known in Nkandla as 'Banana Man'. His scheme provides over 200,000 school meals of fresh fruit in its first year.
Soon the number of children attending Phalane swell to over a thousand, and Kevin later goes on to work an additional part-time job for nearly 18-months, simple to keep the scheme going and feed the children, which he does single handedly, without any financial support.
The feeding programme at Phalane is later taken over by the government and over a thousand pupils at Phalane are still being fed their to this day.
