WHO warns of 50% drop in food production in Africa

Margaret Chan, head of the World Health Organisation gave a stark warning of the massive health impacts of climate change, which she believes "will be the defining issue of the 21st century".
Declining food security will, she predicts, mean massive rises in people dying from malnutrition and diarrhea, and probably lead to more wars. Whilst rising temperatures will lead to drought and famine, more floods will mean more water contamination and issues with water security. More waterlogged areas and changes in temperature will also cause sharp rises in vector-borne diseases such as malaria and dengue fever.
